Throughout the summer, the label StormyWeather Designs has made a statement of celebration to the American soldiers around the globe with its signature steampunk military garments. However, other custom designed pieces have not been far from the labels sketch pad of reality. One of those realities has been the favorable hand patchwork of the modern Bandana, the most versatile piece of clothing to enter the wardrobe of western civilization.

The Label StormyWeather Designs (SWDesigns) stands for uniquely different apparel in a race of its own. Founded by StormyWeather Banks, SWDesigns has been around for years but will be making its first-time debut at 2021 LAFashion Week.

Founder / Educator / Fashion Designer StormyWeather Banks has been sewing & designing since the age of 7. A well respected designer among her peers, Stormy grew up in the upper-middle class suburbs of Carson, CA. Fashion has been her lifelong dream and after a long illustrious career as an educator, Stormy is set to take the fashion industry by storm. Approached and invited by the Organizers of LAFashion Week, StormyWeather Designs is a stand out label to be closely watched.

The Bandana collection is in celebration of her grandmother’s patchwork as she would take hand me down clothing, redesign them, making a new set of clothing, coats, and jackets for her and her siblings. Sewing was a skill passed down from one generation to the next, with Stormy taking it a level higher, Fashion Designer. Stormy fondly remembers her grandmother saying “Although, it may be handed down, it’s new to you once I put my touch to it”. Never letting go of the wisdom her grandmother provided, StormyWeather Banks is truly running her own race.
